Adult Family Homes

AFHs are residential homes where professional care is provided in a family atmosphere for up to six older Adults.

While these are smaller environments, most will offer private rooms with a shared common living area for the residents. This a great option for clients who prefer a more intimate setting and/or require closer supervision for their care needs. Many AFHs provide the same level of care that Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Homes do.

Some AFH owners are nurses, and all are required to have a minimum level of training as AFH Provider and Nursing assistant or CNA. The AFH staffing level is 1-3 caregivers per 6 residents. AFH provides care through the end of life in partnership with local hospice providers.
